Wildlife Management Valuation

The Wildlife management valuation (WMV) is an alternate tax valuation that is available to Texas landowners through the Texas State Constitution. The property must first have a current agricultural valuation before the valuation can be transitioned to wildlife management valuation. Some of the reasons Texas landowners choose this alternate valuation are:

• To have the exact same tax valuation as your current Ag valuation
• To decrease costs of operation and work compared to Ag
• For a place in the country without livestock or crop production
• To improve the quality of wildlife
• To increase revenue through hunting enterprise or eco-tourism
• To increase the re-sale value of your property
